Filipe Alcada is an animation/live-action director who lives in London. He studied animation at the royal College of Art.
Since graduating he has directed several commercials, broadcast work, installation films and films for stage productions (dance and music concerts). He is also the co-founder and a partner of Slomo Productions. His work with Darren Ellis includesa 15min live-action film for the show Boys in Babergh performed at Dance East and choreographed by Darren Ellis and Tom Hobden. Three films developed at 'Moving East' and filmed both there and at 'The Place'. The third film, 'Reassemble' with choreography by Darren Ellis and Hannah Kidd, was exhibited at the Design Museumas part of the event 'Sparkle the dark Up' curated by Ranko Andjelic. And a trailer for the show After-Effects, dance and choreography by Darren Ellis.
