Company Dancer
Dancer Faye was born in Dudley, England and started dancing at an early age becoming a Junior Associate with Birmingham Royal Ballet and performing with The National Youth Ballet of Great Britain. In 2008 she completed her BA Hons in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School, performing in pieces by Merce Cunningham and Richard Alston and touring in collaboration with The Royal Ballet School. After graduating Faye took a break from dancing, moving to New Zealand where she worked on projects to protect endangered birds and their habitat. Faye returned to dancing full time in 2011 joining Companhia de Danca do Norte, Portugal. Back in London she has worked extensively with Needlefoot Dance Theatre Company developing her acting skills. Despite her classical and contemporary training Faye loves to throw herself into all styles of dance including hip-hop, house, lindy-hop and even traditional English Folk Dance. She now writes a blog to share the ups and downs of tackling dance one style at a time. Dancer Gareth trained at London Contemporary Dance School where he graduated in 2010 with a first class degree. Whilst there he danced works by Richard Alston, Siobhan Davies, Aletta Collins, Marc Brew, DanteOrDie, Anna Williams and Kerry Nicholls. He also performed work by James Cousins and was selected to perform at Buckingham Palace for Prince Andrew’s 50th birthday celebrations. After graduating he went on to study a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance with National Dance Company Wales under the artistic direction of Ann Sholem. Gareth joined NDCWales as a company member in 2011 where he worked with choreographers such as Ohad Naharin (Black Milk), Stephen Petronio (By Singing Light), Itzik Galili (Romance Inverse and The Grammar of Silence), Christopher Bruce (Dream), Angelin Prejlocaj (Noces), Gustavo Ramirez (Quioxte Land) and Eleesha Drennan (Phantoms Of Us and Virtual Descent). Gareth was named Dancer of the month in August 2012 edition of Dancing Times. |
